2009-2010 At present, both the British School of Benghazi and the Benghazi European School are fully staffed for September 2010. But please keep your eye on this space. Interested teachers are invited to submit their papers for us to keep on file. The British and European Schools welcome candidates from all backgrounds, without distinction. Married teaching couples are also welcome. Click here to see the package that is on offer for overseas staff at the British School of Benghazi: Interested candidates will find most of what they need to know about the school on these websites (www.bsb-edu.org and www.bes-edu.org ) and further details concerning contract will be e-mailed upon reception of a completed application. Post to Libya is not suitable (too long) and e-mail should be used. bsbenghazi@gmail.com – for e-mails 00 218 61 223 2700 – for faxes and weekend (Friday/Saturday) calls. 00 218 61 222 5822 – for telephone calls (school days) 00 218 61 92 520 2557 - mobile There are no forms and you are free to present yourself as you wish, in what seems to you to be your best possible light. However, please check out the following: Teachers who wish to apply for posts should send via e-mail: 1) A cv with a passport sized photograph. 2) A short letter concerning experience, abilities and interests, etc. 3) The names of two persons willing to be confidential referees, with e-mails. Writers of confidential references will be assured that they are exactly that, i.e. confidential, and that they will not be shared with the candidate. Please note that your present employer MUST be named as a referee. 4) Any open testimonials written by previous employers or other professionals (only) who have close knowledge of your experience in schools and of your ability. 5) Contact points (in order of preference: e-mails, telephones/faxes, addresses) for candidate and referees – including for holiday times. The ability to offer some other aspect of the primary curriculum (e.g. music, drama, remedial help, etc) could be an advantage but will not be a pre-condition for a good candidate. Please state such abilities/interests in your letter. It is unlikely that short-listed candidates will be called to Libya for interviews due to the present long-winded approach to the issue of visas, but other suitable arrangements will be made and notified. There are photographs on the website of the school and its community. The British School moved into brand new premises in 2006, on the same premises as its secondary section, the European School. |
